Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and CareConnect Events, which operates CareConnect Directory (“CareConnect”, “we”, “us”). They govern your use of our website and services. By using the site, creating an account, or sending an enquiry, you agree to these terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the service. Please also read our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

CareConnect is a directory and introduction service. We help people find Occupational Therapists, Case Managers, and practices, and we pass enquiries to the professionals a user chooses to contact.

We are not a provider of occupational therapy, case management, medical, legal, or any other professional service. We do not employ the professionals listed, we are not a party to any agreement you make with them, and we do not supervise or take responsibility for the services they provide. Any engagement is directly between you and the professional or practice.

Nothing on the site is medical, clinical, or legal advice. If you have an urgent health concern, contact your GP, NHS 111, or the emergency services.

To create a professional account you must:

• Be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement.
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information, and keep it up to date.
• Hold the professional registration and qualifications you describe, and be lawfully entitled to practise.
• Keep your login details secure and not share your account. You are responsible for activity under your account.

We may suspend or remove an account that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe is inaccurate, misleading, or unlawful.

We carry out checks on professional listings, which may include checking registration numbers and requesting qualification documents. These checks are made in good faith to support the trustworthiness of the directory, but we do not guarantee the accuracy of any listing, the credentials, suitability, or conduct of any professional, or the quality or outcome of any service.

You should make your own checks and judgement before engaging anyone, including confirming their current registration with the relevant regulator (for example the HCPC).

If you list a profile or practice, you agree that you will:

• Keep your profile accurate and not misrepresent your qualifications, registration, experience, or services.
• Maintain your own professional registration, insurance, and any DBS or indemnity cover you rely on.
• Comply with the standards and codes of your regulator and with all applicable laws, including data protection law, in handling enquirer information.
• Respond to enquiries professionally and only use enquirer details to respond to that enquiry.
• Not list a profile for anyone other than yourself, or a practice you are authorised to represent.

When you send an enquiry, we pass the details you provide to the professional or professionals you have chosen (or, for a guided match, to a small number of suitable professionals) so they can respond. We do not guarantee that any professional will respond, accept your enquiry, or be able to help.

Please provide accurate information and share only what you are comfortable sharing. Do not submit enquiries on behalf of someone else without their knowledge where the enquiry includes their personal details.

You agree not to:

• Use the site unlawfully, fraudulently, or for any harmful purpose.
• Scrape, harvest, or collect contact details or other data from the directory, whether by automated means or otherwise.
• Send spam, bulk, or unsolicited communications, or misuse the enquiry feature.
• Upload content that is false, defamatory, infringing, offensive, or that you do not have the right to share.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, interfere with its operation, or circumvent its security.
• Copy, resell, or republish parts of the directory without our permission.

The CareConnect name, branding, design, and the directory as a whole are owned by us or our licensors. You may not use them without our permission.

You keep ownership of the content you submit, such as your profile text, photos, and any articles. By submitting content you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and promote it as part of operating the directory. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share what you submit, and that it is accurate and lawful. We may remove content that breaches these terms.

Listing a profile is currently free for professionals. If we offer paid features in future, the price and terms will be made clear before you buy, and payments will be handled securely by our payment provider. Unless required by law or stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable once a paid feature is active.

The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. While we work hard to keep it accurate and running, we do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that listings are complete or current. To the extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties. This does not affect your statutory rights.

Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded under law.

Subject to that, we are not liable for the acts, omissions, advice, or services of any professional or practice listed, for any agreement you enter into with them, or for any loss arising from your reliance on the directory. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data, or goodwill. Our total liability to you arising from the service is limited to the greater of the amount you have paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £100.

If you are a listed professional, you agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses, or costs arising from your listing, your services, your handling of enquirer data, or your breach of these terms.

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we stop offering the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as liability, indemnity, and intellectual property) continue to apply after your account ends.

We may update these terms or the service from time to time. When we make significant changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, let you know. Continuing to use the service means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction, except that if you are a consumer you may also have the right to bring proceedings in your own place of residence.
